THE PROJECT
The project stems from the desire to give life and visibility to a territory rich in history, culture, and natural beauty, deserving to be known and loved.
Through the direct involvement of the community and the use of innovative technologies such as audioguides and QR codes, the "Museo Diffuso dei Sicani" (Spread Museum of the Sicani People) transforms every corner of the twelve municipalities' territory into an experience to be lived, immersing the visitor in a journey that starts from the villages and reaches the pristine landscapes, passing through the local traditions and narratives.
One of the key elements of the project is creating experiences, unique and authentic moments that allow visitors to connect directly with the local culture. From artisanal activities to traditional cooking workshops, the experiences are designed to make the tourist the protagonist, enabling them to experience the territory with all their senses. Each experience is designed to rediscover ancient gestures and forgotten trades, such as pottery making or olive picking, bringing to light the traditions that have shaped this land.
The "Identities Menus" are another fundamental pillar of the project, authentic gastronomic journeys that tell the territory's history through flavors. Each dish is rooted in the local culture, prepared with locally sourced ingredients and represents a piece of the Sicani's identity. These menus allow visitors to discover traditional recipes, savoring the deep connection between cuisine and the land.
The "Spread Infopoints," distributed in various strategic points of the territory, are not just simple information centers. Located in bars, restaurants, and local shops, they provide a warm and authentic welcome. Here, visitors can get advice, explore routes and activities, and immerse themselves in local life. Thanks to innovative technologies such as simultaneous translators and interactive maps, the spread infopoints facilitate access to the territory's resources and make every corner of the "Museo Diffuso" easily explorable.
Another precious gift offered to the guests of the "Museo Diffuso dei Sicani" are the audioguides, a sign of welcome and hospitality coming directly from the inhabitants of the territory. The audioguides, available on platforms like izi.travel, tell authentic stories through the voices of local residents. Each audioguide is an open window to the past and the traditions of the place, offering 180 geolocated points of interest ranging from archaeological history to food and wine culture, to popular traditions.
